Another day spent unemployed...

I'm not exaggerating when I say I've just spent the last five hours catching up on all the blogs in my blogroll. I neglected them terribly when I was a working girl, but as I have nothing better to do now than wake up and watch repeats of Summerland and patronising collonial outings by Oprah, I can get back to reading things that make me smile.

I highly recommend this post on colourism by Aulelia. The short film she links to is on its own worth the visit, but her following discussion on colourism is thought provoking and astute.

Meanwhile, Ariel and redcap's travel posts are both exquisitely written and transportive.

And....that's all. I'm spent.

If anyone needs me I'll be at the markets drinking coffee and raiding the bargain vegetable tables.

Peace out (don't even lie Mercedes, you KNOW you took cocaine!)

I find Summerland terrible. That will always be Becky from Full House to me. Always.

I'm also bitter that Chennel 10 pulled new episodes of 7th Heaven to show it, because new sevhev was delightfully and gloriously and spectacularly awful.

Thankfully I only have one more day of this to endure. And hopefully it won't be too long for you, Miss Audrey.

I am doing something similar - catching up on all the blog posts written and ignored while I was away. Have come to the conclusion that people write quite a lot.

It is far too hot for me to reach any more profound conclusions.

"Collonial outings by Oprah"...

Are they replaying the turd episode again? If so, I'd like to set my video*.

* Note: Said video machine neither works nor exists.

Woot! I am so so excited. Another person who believes Mercedes is guilty as all sin.

(I really want to sing 'Did you ever know that you're my heroooooo?' in a cheesy voice to you, Audrey)

chesty - 7th Heaven was deliciously bad, non? The anomoly in Spelling's collection of masterpieces!

pomgirl - It's very time consuming, isn't it? I've half a mind to cut my links down to five, but then I could never choose which five. Too many funny people out there...Loved your posts about travelling by the way. As they might say in a black and white film, you are a card old girl!

tyson - I think there's a bit of turd in every Oprah episode tyson...Meanwhile, I got your zines. Muchos grazias my good fellow.

rosanna - It's written all over her poor-man's-Hillary-Swank face....

daniel - bah! refer to email.

My favourite character in this ridiculous drama is Schapelle Action Support Group founder Rachelle Hamilton.

And the whole thing goes to prove my long-time theory that if you name your children ridiculous, made-up names (like Schapelle, Jaydyn, etc) it is a GUARANTEE that they will end up on the front page of the paper for reasons that are not good.

Children with sensible names like Michael or John, or Audrey or Megan only end up in the paper because they've won a prize for being the best at science and were presented with it by the Prime Minister.

DON'T SAY YOU WEREN'T WARNED, PEOPLE.

I would love Rebekka to do a name reading on me. What might I end up on the front of?

Please?

rebekka - These are what redcap refers to as "Shallow Bush Grave (SBG)" names. Years from now, our bank managers will be called Shaq'fierce (pron. shack-fee-air-say) and Cyclonica.

tyson - Most probably an issue of Girlfriend magazine in the hottest stars of [insert date here]. You would of course be in Home and Away.

I think I did better at getting through my blogroll when I worked at the office. At least I had wicked high speed internet then.
